The long-range aircraft

Lifts like a helicopter.

On campus a quadcopter flies the orders. For longer distances beyond it, this VTOL: four lift propellers take it straight up from a pad, so it needs no runway and no launcher.

The long-range aircraft

Flies like a plane.

Once it is moving, the wing carries the weight and one pusher propeller drives it forward. That is the efficient way to cover distance.

The long-range aircraft

Every part has a job.

The delivery pod rides in the belly on a winch line, so an order can be lowered where the aircraft cannot land. The landing skids double as charging contacts.

Fleet AI

One brain in the air. One on the ground.

Anything that must happen in milliseconds lives on the aircraft. Anything about the whole fleet lives on the server. Nothing safety-critical waits for a network.

  1. On the aircraft
    Flight ControllerBUILT

Flies the mission: take-off, navigation, hover and landing.

  2. Safety EnvelopeIN PART

Fixed rules with fixed reactions. Return home on low battery and lost link is set up today; the full set is next.

  3. Health MonitorNEXT

Notices when the aircraft stops behaving like itself: vibration, motor current, battery cells.

  4. On the ground
    Mission BrainBUILT

Chooses the drone, locks the landing pad and reserves the airspace for each flight.

  5. Fleet HealthNEXT

Tracks every motor and battery over time and says what to replace before it fails.

  6. Flight AnalystNEXT

Reads every flight log and explains what went wrong, in plain words.

The safety rules are not learned. They are written down, tested in simulation and can be explained to a regulator.

Fleet AI · choosing a drone

Every drone gets a score out of 100.

When an order is ready, Fleet AI scores every available drone and shows its working. The highest score flies.

Highest score: D-03 · 81 / 100

  • A drone that landed less than a minute ago rests and is not scored.
  • A drone below 25% battery is never sent.

One platform, five parts.

Each part has one job, and they talk to each other the same way on campus as they will across a city.
